After all the emotion of Tennessee coach Pat Summitt’s first appearance at Maples Pavilion since revealing she suffers from early onset Alzheimer’s disease, two of basketball’s storied programs went at it Tuesday night. Just like they always do. But the 29th edition of a rivalry that began in 1988 belonged to Nneka Ogwumike, who had an inspired performance to lead fourth-ranked Stanford to a convincing 97-80 victory over the No. 6 Lady Vols. Ogwumike scored a career-high 42 points — the first Cardinal player to get at least 40 points since former star Jayne Appel had a school-record 46 two seasons ago against Iowa State.
